Gaming Ballot Language Approved for Signature Gathering

The state’s Title Setting Review Board approved the language of the ballot initiative to increase the gaming limits (Ballot Initiatives 121 and 122).  The approved language would allow Central City, Black Hawk and Cripple Creek to increase maximum betting limits at their casinos to $100, to allow craps and roulette and to extend their hours of operation.  The next step for the proponents is to begin circulating petitions to collect the more than 76,000 registered voter’s signatures to get the measure on the November 2008 ballot.  If you support the gaming limits increase and want it on the ballot, be on the lookout for petitioners collecting signatures.  You must be a registered voter in the state of Colorado for your signature to be valid.  If you need to register to vote, visit the Colorado Secretary of State’s website - http://www.elections.colorado.gov, click on voter registration form, fill it out and mail it.  Be aware that there will be several groups circulating petitions to get measures on the ballot, only sign petitions for measurers you would like on the ballot.

Let’s get out there and get the required signatures!  Check back at www.nolimitcolorado.com for updates.

  1. If the petitioners don’t come to me, how can I find them to have my wife and I sign?

  2. Thanks for your response.

  3. FG, that’s a great question. I am doing some research and will dedicate a new article to this subject! Thanks for your support.

  4. I heard a rumor that they’re going to take the 24 hours off of the Gaming Ballot.

  5. I have not found anyone with this gaming petition! How can I sign something I can not find? anyone know when and where or have any new info on this gaming limit vote? thanks…

  6. Man, I am having a really hard time finding out where they are collecting signatures. What I keep hearing is that they are not even concerned about getting enough signatures. I haven’t been up to Blackhawk in awhile but I have to imagine they are collecting up there. I would really like to hear from someone that has signed. Anyone out there put there ink to paper?

  7. Does anyone know the count? what are we standing at or are we already on the ballot? Any new info would be nice… lets try to keep the gaming community up to date so we can make it right this year!

  8. RJJ, the person running this website is not doing a very good job lately with updates. There have been some positive events that have taken place. 130,000 voter signatures were accepted and this will go on the November ballot as Amendment 50.
